The Los Gatos / Monte Sereno Police Department will host a presentation on the concept of combining Neighborhood Watch and C.E.R.T. resources as an amplified community preparedness approach and increased neighborhood awareness. Come be a part of the LGMS Neighborhood Watch for your area and learn about the C.E.R.T. networking team approach. You will have an opportunity to meet the leaders of the C.E.R.T. Neighborhood Incident Command Post (NICP) that is closest to your home, understand what a N.I.C.P. is and its benefits to your immediate community.
Discussion will focus on ways that Neighborhood Watch can be utilized to augment the coverage and overview of immediate damage assessment and resource needs for you and your neighbors to be communicated back to the Emergency Operations Center at the police department via the N.I.C.P. As a goal of developing this community partnership, neighborhoods will be encouraged to exemplify their strength, collaboration, and resilience through neighborhood meetings, looking out for one another, and other community building opportunities.
