Faith Formation Program Overview
As a Catholic community, we are obligated to provide our children with opportunities for on-going training and enrichment in the Catholic tradition. A lifetime journey that continues to enrich, nourish and guide us in our Catholic Christian heritage from childhood through adolescence and adulthood.
Baptism
Our Baptism program welcomes infants and young children into the Catholic Church and is the first step on the journey of ongoing faith formation.
Preschool: (age 31/2 & Up) and Kindergarten
Our Pre-school Program, Playways to God is for children ages 3 years 6 months through kindergarten and is offered during the 9:00 am mass.
Elementary: Grades 1-5
Our Sunday Elementary Program is a scripture based catechetical program for grades 1-5. We offer this Sunday program at two masses: the 9:00 am and 11:15 am. This program will focus on the reading s used at mass on Sunday. With a catechist in a small group session children will listen to the Sunday readings especially adapted for children, talk about the gospel message, discuss how it applies to their everyday lives and our Catholic traditions. Our Monday Elementary Program offers a grade level catechetical program for grades 1-5. Our Monday program meets from 4:00 pm – 5:00pm on Mondays. This program groups children by grade level into sessions where they receive instruction from a catechist using a textbook appropriate for their age group.
Christian Initiation of Children
We offer a Christian Initiation of Children process for children who are not baptized or have not been catechized within a community.
EDGE Junior High: Grades 6-8
Our middle school program for children in grades 6-8, meets on Monday nights from
