What is the Annual Diocesan Appeal (ADA), “Secure The Vision”?
The Annual Diocesan Appeal (ADA) “Secure The Vision”, is the 2008 major fund-raising drive for the Diocese of San Jose. Each year, the fi fty-three parishes and missions of our local Church take part in the ADA drive to raise funds for the support of the centralized parish services, ministries, activities, and programs of the Diocese of San Jose.

Over 62% of all diocesan revenues come from the funds raised during the ADA. This annual appeal is vital to fund the essential centralized services and ministries that serve the parishes and the people
of the Diocese of San Jose.

Ways to Make Your Gift or Pledge
Gifts of Cash, Check, Visa, MasterCard, or Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Simply complete your pledge form by indicating the amount of your total pledge and first payment. Be sure to indicate your payment plan if making a pledge. Please make checks payable to the Annual Diocesan Appeal (ADA). If you choose to donate by either Visa or MasterCard, please complete the appropriate portion of your pledge form. Please be sure to indicate whether you would like to make a one-time gift or set up a credit card billing up to over 10 months. You may choose to make your donation by an Electronic Funds Transfer. Simply fill out the EFT portion of the pledge form indicating the amount of the transfer, the account information, and the transfer schedule you prefer. Please remember that pledges should be completed by December 31, 2008. You may make your donation to the ADA via the Internet. Log on to the Diocese of San Jose web site, www.dsj.org, and follow the links to our secured donation site. You won’t have to hassle with filling out forms, and your pledge will automatically be credited to your parish! You may return your pledge form in the parish offertory collection or bring it by the parish office. You will be sent payment reminders and a reply envelope in accordance with the payment plan you selected on your pledge form.
Donors can use their own broker/agent or the diocesan agent to transfer and sell stock. If the stock has been held long-term (over one year), the donor does not have to pay capital gains tax on the stock, and is allowed a tax deduction for the full value of the stock.
